COP OUT 2026: POCKETFUL OF ELSEWHERE

SGD 0.00

Art, Climate & Collective Action

COP OUT is an ongoing, socially engaged curatorial initiative developed through an international Asia-Pacific collective led by Micro Galleries, exploring how art can bring environmental conversations into everyday spaces and communities.

Responding to the global climate discourse surrounding COP31 in November 2026, the initiative brings together artists and cultural practitioners to explore environmental change through creative interventions, storytelling and public engagement.

Rather than treating climate issues as distant subjects to be represented, COP OUT asks how art can make these realities more immediate, visible and personal — creating opportunities for participation, dialogue and collective reflection.

POCKETFUL OF ELSEWHERE: STORIES HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT

An artistic intervention by Shirley Wong | SUM+ARTS

What environmental stories are hidden in plain sight?

Pocketful of Elsewhere is an evolving art and storytelling project that transforms discarded everyday materials into handmade pockets carrying stories of environmental change from across Asia.

Through an open call, writers, poets, text-based artists and storytellers are invited to contribute original poems, memories, reflections and experimental texts exploring our changing relationship with the environment.

These contributions will form a digital repository, while selected works will be reproduced and tucked into handmade pockets. The pockets will be introduced into everyday spaces around Singapore as temporary micro-galleries, inviting unexpected encounters with stories that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Written across Asia. Made from what we discard. Discovered in Singapore.

STORIES WANTED! — OPEN CALL

We are inviting writers, poets, text-based artists and storytellers across Asia to contribute to Pocketful of Elsewhere.

Poetry, flash fiction, personal memories, handwritten letters and experimental writing are welcome. Submissions may be in any language.

Submissions close: 26 October 2026, 11:59 PM (SGT)
